Akron® Swing-Out™ Valves
Akron®’s unique Swing-Out design allows for quick and easy servicing in today’s complex fire apparatus. Two self-adjusting seats create an excellent seal to hold pressure and vacuum in either direction. A NorkalonTM ball and dual seats provide smooth, long lasting, reliable operation. There is no need to remove valves from plumbing when servicing. All valve bodies and adapters are made of red brass and all control parts of non-corroding materials. There are no flange O-Rings to cut or tear. The Swing-Out Valve is a full flow valve and will flow in both directions, making it impossible to install backwards.
Every valve is factory tested in accordance with current NFPA Standards.
The Swing-Out Valve’s rugged, durable handles and handle stops are built to take rough usage and the one piece stop plate allows the handle position to be changed to 8 different positions by removing only one bolt. These valves are Self-locking Tork-Lok® valves providing quick and easy adjustment without manual locking. The possibility of the valve creeping open or closed during operations is greatly reduced. These valves are available with R-1, TS or TSC handles and many different inlet and discharge flanges. We have shown only the most commonly used flanges. Contact us for other configurations.

These In-Line Valves have the Tork-Lok handle feature that allows the valves to automatically lock in any position, eliminating unwanted valve movement. The handle can be changed to eight different positions by removing only one bolt. The valve is shown with a TS handle. The valves are also available with R-1 or TSC handles.
