SNAPLIGHT and CYALUME LIGHTSTICKS provide emergency lighting . . . without batteries, bulbs or power of any sort! Lighting that is dependable, safe and not affected by wind or rain. They are visible from over one mile with 3600 illumination. The light is provided by a chemical reaction that takes place when two solutions are allowed to mix. To prevent this taking place prematurely, one of the chemicals is stored in a thin glass tube, which is easily broken by flexing the Snaplight Lightstick. The Lightsticks are safe for normal use, they are not a source of heat or sparks and can be used in areas where ordinary lighting could pose an explosion or fire hazard.

They were tested according to the Federal Hazardous Substance Act used to determine whether a substance is highly toxic, corrosive or irritant. The components in the Lightstick were found to be none of these. Lightsticks are available in various sizes, intensities and have durations up to 12 hours. The shorter the duration of the light the greater the intensity. The shelf life is from two to four years depending on the type of Lightstick. They are 6” in length with a base diameter of ¾”. The body is hexagonal shaped to prevent rolling. There is a hook and eye so that they can be hung from various attachments. Each Lightstick is individually wrapped in an airtight foil wrapper & weighs less than 1 oz.
